Why Do We Work from 10 to 16? In Reality — Much More Than It Seems Although the website states that we work from 10 to 16, CAR-CHECK24 employees start their day at 8:00. Why?
preparing reports
reviewing new requests
organizing inspection schedules
communicating with technical specialists
checking cars that appeared late in the evening or early in the morning
This is internal work that clients do not see — but without it, high-quality service would be impossible. Why don’t we take calls before 10:00? The reason is simple: German dealers almost never answer the phone before 10 AM. At best — you get voicemail. At worst — complete silence. That’s why our official customer-contact window starts at 10:00: call the dealer → get an answer → clarify details → book an inspection. Otherwise, the early morning would just be wasted time. Why does the working day “end” at 16:00? Again — because of the dealers:
After 16:00, most dealers go home
They stop answering calls
Offices and warehouses close
Access to vehicles after 16:00 is rare
This means that the critical window for communication, booking, documentation and inspections is limited to 10:00–16:00. Not our choice — that’s how the German automotive market works. But in reality, we often work until 18–19 Even after the official hours end, we continue:
processing applications
preparing inspection reports
checking VINs and documents
planning routes for experts
communicating with clients
handling complex cases
checking new cars entering the market
During peak demand, our workday frequently lasts until 18:00–19:00. Calling dealers is a challenge in itself Anyone who has dealt with German dealers knows:
it’s hard to reach them
replies are short and often incomplete
some ignore calls entirely
others postpone conversations
some unexpectedly “already closed”
Every successful call feels like a victory. Every confirmed inspection is the result of dozens of attempts. So why show working hours as 10–16? To let clients know when we can be most effective:
when dealers are available
when issues can be solved quickly
when access to vehicles is possible
It’s not a shortened workday — it’s the time window in which we can guarantee results. We work much more than it seems Much of our work is invisible. We don’t just “sit from 10 to 16 and go home.” We are on the road, on the phone, in negotiations, in paperwork. In reality — from 8 AM and often until 7 PM. Working with dealers is a daily struggle for speed, accuracy and timing — to secure the right car before someone else buys it.
